Special Adviser for MENA Region
Celine Taminian IIE Scholar Rescue Fund (IIE-SRF) Celine Taminian serves as a Special Advisor to the IIE Scholar Rescue Fund, focusing primarily on helping threatened scholars secure visiting academic positions outside of their home countries. Ms. Taminian’s responsibilities include working with senior officials at higher education institutions in the MENA region; overseeing IIE-SRF's Live Lectures Project, which supports activities that feed knowledge back to Iraq through distance education; supporting application reviews from MENA applicants; and facilitating IIE-SRF's monitoring and evaluation in the MENA region. Prior to her current role, Ms. Taminian served for five years as IIE-SRF's Iraq Scholar Rescue Project Manager for the MENA region, based in Amman, Jordan. Prior to her position with IIE-SRF, Ms. Taminian worked with the U.S.-based Arab Community Center for Economic and Social Services in the state of Michigan, serving as Assistant Director to its Arab American National Museum. Born and educated in Jordan, she received her BA degree in English Language and Literature and her MA degree in American Studies both from The University of Jordan.
